That final issue is the first time a comic made me cry. Mine was the end of Daytripper. If you haven't read that you really should, especially since you like Moore's work. Daytripper is one of the most powerful stories I've read in any medium. I read it not too long after my daughter was born, so it definitely hit me in the feels pretty hard. Alan Moore and Eddie Campbell's From Hell continues to stick with me, very viseral storytelling. I'd also highly recommend Paul Chadwick's Concrete series from Dark Horse. If you can stand the buggy app, Dark Horse Digital has all the trades for pretty reasonable prices, about $8 each. Even though the main character's mind/conciousness has been transferred into this huge, strange body, the stories are really grounded in human drama. Plus Chadwick's inking is pretty impressive.

I think there is a one shot called "Three Uneasy Pieces" on sale for $2 that is a pretty good intro to the character. Maybe check that out first and see what you think? For the trades, the first couple volumes are collections of shorter stories, whereas the later volumes are more like graphic novels focusing on longer arcs.

Atomic Robo (Okay, maybe not BEST series, but until people starting reading it, I won't change my answer)

Jason Aron's run on thor is really blowing me away, that's 2 arcs complete and both were absolutely kick-ass!

This is tricky. My favourite will always be the original Marvel run of Transformers (especially the Target 2006 story), but when it comes to best it'd be a tough call between Y the Last Man (which I chain-bought in trade form as I was reading it) and We3, which was one of the most touching things I've ever read.

Such a hard question. I think for now I have to go with transmetropolatin. I was so riveted by the story and art for the whole book, when I was reaching the end I was so invested It actually make me pretty sad to have to move on.
I read it during the last presidential elections, Does anybody else see unforgiving similarities between Romney and "the Smiler"?

Reading superior Spider-Man on marvel unlimited and loving it. Read the first one just to see what it was like, 8 issues later I had to force myself to go to bed!! Love all the hate mail that's at the back of the first few issues, how wrong were they!

The Invisible's - No one seems to appreciate this series but the chronal twist seeded by Morrison through out is fantastic, not to mention the mind bending sub plots and Danes progression through the story - really fantastic series. this easily makes my list too, always been a sucker for grant morrissons "trippier" work... other stand-outs for me (the top spot changes fairly reguarly) are Batman: The Long Halloween, DMZ, Y the Last Man, All-Star Superman, Superman: Birthright, and the Saga of Swamp Thing. and that's without going too deep into mini-series, too!

Great picks. I've been reading through DMZ and am on volume 5 right now. The artwork can be a little hit and miss with me, but I'm really enjoying the story and love how you experience the world through journalist Matt Roth, great concept. Are you reading The Massive from Brian Wood? It's similar to DMZ in some ways, just on a bigger scale. I've also been working my way through Sage of the Swamp Thing. I enjoyed the episode of Kevin Smith's Fatman on Batman where he basically did a dramatic reading of the issues where Swamp Thing goes to Gotham. That got me to read the series starting from when Alan Moore took over. Been great so far!
