Okay. So this was horrible news. First time a childhood hero of mine has died and it gutted me. No doubt most people here feel the same way. Sitting here at work in front of my computer in a bit of a daze. Was hoping for everybody to share their favourite films/performances of this great comedian.
First thing that came into my head when I saw the headline was the line from 'Hook',
"To die would be an awfully big adventure."
I love that film and its definitely my favourite Robin Williams performance. That and Good Will Hunting. Nothing makes me laugh more than that wife-farting-in-her-sleep scene.
RIP Robin Williams.

I'm still shocked about his death, and not only that he died but the way he died. A man that seemed so full of life, lovable and energetic died by his own hand because depression took him.....that is what has hit me the most about all this.
Honestly, I loved many of his movies....Jumanji, Mrs. Doubtfire, Hook, Good Morning Vietnam and perhaps one of the few movies that have made me react emotionally: Bicentennial Man.

Just woke up, and the first thing i see is this news.Man, talk about a punch in the gut.
He was one of my favorite comedic actors when i was a kid, him and Jim Carrey couldn't do anything wrong for me in those days.
Hook, Good Morning Vietnam, Ms. Doubtfire, Jumanji, i liked almost all of his movies(even Flubber). And one of his more serious movies that i really liked was What Dreams May Come.
Such a shame, especially the way it probably happened. And man, 63, that fucking age....I have a history with people passing away at that age.Way too young.
RIP

Has anybody here seen Final Cut? I really love that movie. One of his serious ones also, hasnt had great reviews and the acting is a tiny bit hokey in some scenes but I don't think it affects the movie negatively. Has a great premise, set in the near future where people have implants in their heads that films their entire life so that when they die their families choose happy memories to screen at their funerals. Robin Williams plays the guy who sifts through the memories to find them, but of course comes across horrible things people have done. Worth a look if you havent seen it.

He was phenomenal in One Hour Photo, if it had been a bigger movie, we might have seen an Oscar nod. But for me, it's all about the stand up he did. Live at the Met was him at his best ( although drug addled), Weapons of Mass Destruction shows he could do it without the drugs and he had a style that has inspired countless other comedians. Watch him on Inside the Actors studio for just a glimpse of the brilliance that was Robin Williams
