I realize that technically Vertigo and DC go hand in hand in terms of the comic world so putting this in the "Other Publishers" category instead of the "DC" category might not seem right, but I decided this seems like the best place to put it.
What Vertigo books is everybody currently reading right now? What are some of your all time favorite Vertigo books?
Right now I'm loving The Wake, Trillium, Collider FBP and both of the Fables world books (Fables and Fairest). In terms of all time favorites I'd say Animal Man, Swamp Thing, Hellblazer and The Sandman.

I read fables week to week and when that wraps up it probably will go into my all time top 5. I read fairest in trade. The wake would be my favorite thing if it weren't for sex criminals. But I like them so much I can't wait for trade. I read the trades on American Vampire. The other series ill wait for the trade on. Gives me something to look forward to.

American Vampire is just SO good. The break has been killer for me but I love reading every new volume of it.
I agree on Fables too. It WILL be in my Top 5 of all time when its all said and done. Just a masterclass of good comic book writing.
I really loved Sweet Tooth as well. It was certainly not for everybody but that book really hit close to home for me.

I'll go back and reread that last issue sometimes just because it's so powerful emotionally. I can't confirm or deny whether I do it with dry eyes.

I read a fair few Vertigo books, currently on my pull list are the Wake, FBP, Sandman Overture, Dead Boy Detectives, Hinterkind and the amazing Trillium. Also just finished the Tom Strong and the planet of peril series which was pretty decent. Other vertigo stuff I love are Punk Rock Jesus, Promethea, Hellblazer, and although they were originally DC, I bought the trades on Vertigo - Alan Moores Swamp Thing and Grant Morrisons Doom Patrol run.

I haven't read much Vertigo stuff until recently. I really only read Fables up until the end of last year. The Wake and Trillium really made me realize that they were a lot like Image in the fact that they aren't all about super heroes, which I love about them. I'm going to try and make an effort to get more Vertigo books on my shelf as soon as possible. I have American Vampires Vol 1 coming in the mail in the next few days. I'm so pumped.
I was wanting to start reading Fairest, but I wasn't sure about it. What's it all about/should I start reading it?

I'm currently not checking out anything they're putting out. but I'm really looking forward to reading Trillium when that hits trade. I've read American Vampire, and thought that was pretty great. Same with the Losers. Then I've only read the "classic" or bigger Vertigo titles, like Y: The Last Man and Preacher or The Books of Magic, and then a couple of issues of other random stuff like American Virgin snd Deadman.

FBP is one of my favourite worlds at the moment and such a rich idea. I'd love to see it get popular enough that they do an anthology in the future.
American Vampire, Trillium, and The Wake. Trying not to pick anything else up from Vertigo because I can't add anything else to my pull and they've had such a solid year with the titles they've released.

Sweet Tooth is a damn near perfect comic book. Some other great Vertigo tear-jerkers are Daytripper, and It's a Bird. I'm sure y'all have heard of Daytripper, they've talked about it on the show, but I think It's a Bird is lesser known. It's a semi-autobiographical book about a comic book writer who gets offered to write Superman, and his frustrations with a character that is seemingly perfect and represents justice, while he himself struggles with Huntingtons Disease. This book is so great, and even had a grown, bearded man bawling his eyes out on the deck of a Disney Cruise, which is probably the last place anyone cries at!

The Wake was one of my favorite new books from 2013. I love that story so much and am very excited to see where this next arc is going to go. I'm 18 issues into American Vampire and absolutely love it. I'm going to try very hard to finish the first 34 issues before cycle 2 starts up, can't wait.

I personally think American Vampire's the best work Scott Snyder has done so far, but i haven't read Swamp Thing or the Wake so i could be wrong. It kind of renewed my love for vampires and made me a fan of Rafael Alberquerque. Can't wait for it to start again.
And the other Vertigo series i love is Fables which i am almost caught up on.Sad that its ending with issue 150, i understand that after such a long run its time to quit but still think its sad.

I would strongly suggest picking up The Wake part one. It collects the first 5 issues of the 10 issue mini-series, and its only $9.99 I believe. Issue #6 is coming out the last Wednesday of February. If you've got the extra cash to spare its a great read.

Some of my most favorite titles came out from Vertigo. If you guys haven't read any of these obviously I recommend you do: Sandman & all its wonderful mini's, The Dreaming, Lucifer, The Books of Magic, Stardust, Transmetropolitan, Preacher, Y The Last Man, Shade The Changing man, The Invisible's, Hellblazer, 100 Bullets, We3, Fables & its spin off's - the list just keeps going - Vertigo where the king of publishers to me for a long time, their back catelogue still boasts some of my all time favorite stories. Those Vertigo era Bolland covers are still so iconic to me and hold a special place in my heart. These days I pick up a few Vertigo titles, Mike Carey's The Unwritten, Fables, Fairest, American Vampire, Hinterkind, Sandman: Overture, Astro City and Dead Boy Detectives. I recently dropped FBP because I found it dull and none compelling, the high science was what appealed to me but it just turned into such a laborious read for me issue to issue. It's rare that I drop a book - let alone a Vertigo title but damn - there was just nothing in there for me. I'm trade waiting on The Wake and Trillium, I was getting a little burnt out on Lemire and Snyder so I never jumped on with those titles, which I kind of regret now! Also not managed to check out Coffin Hill, but I hear good things. So I'll probably get the trade too. (Bring back Hellbalzer grumble grumble)
