Is anyone else checking out this incredibly delayed but amazing series? It's released by IDW, written by Steven Niles, and art by Bernie Wrightson.

With the first panel i don't like how it describes what we see in the panel but apart from that it looks pretty good.

Been hanging on for dear life waiting for this series to be released. Worth the wait thought. Have you seen the big hardback of Frankenstein with illustrations by Bernie Wrightson too? It's beautiful. I'm not sure though if this is ongoing or a mini-series, but Frankenstein is my favourite book of all time, and I never thought there would ever be a sequel, let alone one that is on par in quality.

I think you would also like the hardcover release of the Frankenstein novel with Wrightson panels spread throughout.

I think you would also like the hardcover release of the Frankenstein novel with Wrightson panels spread throughout. This hardcover is BEAUTIFUL. I bought it as a present for somebody but ended up keeping it and buying them something else. Such amazing artwork. And a great hardcover edition. I know people say don't judge a book by its cover, but I love nothing more than a good hardcover edition of a book I love. It's really sad to see all the health problems Bernie Wrightson is going through, I haven't seen any updates but I hope all is well. This series is one of the best on the shelves and as much as the delay sucks, it's almost nice to have one issue a year. I've read and re-read the first 3 so far 3 or 4 times each and each time just finding new things to love.

I have been aware of that particular edition of Frankenstein for a while but had never purchased a personal copy. While browsing comics news one day I ran across the announcement of the IDW volume. MY wife happened to catch the pictures of the novel illustrations that accompanied the article and quickly said she wanted a copy of the novel and that I was to add the IDW volume to my pull list. Of course I did and we are now where we are. The women has taste that's for sure.

So from the looks of it Bernie Wrightson is now doing well and recently posted a picture of himself in his studio holding some pencils, which I can only assume means he's back to work which is amazing. I really hope its on this book. Its so good. And as long as these delays are, it just means with each new issue I've been reading it from the start again to refresh my memory and it feels new again.
