Ok, with Cataclysm over, what is everyone thinking about the Ultimate universe? I was pretty excited about the next wave of books, (All-New Ultimates, Ultimate FF and Miles Morales: Ultimate Spider-Man) I'm getting kind of sick of the entire world being destroyed once a year. Like, seriously.. I wish they could just have a "normal" storyline, let's see Ultimate Sin-Eater or something street level. It doesn't have to be bigger than the last thing, just a better story. A CHARACTER driven story, even. I haven't been relegiously reading Ultimate Spider-Man, I'll be honest. But I loved the issue where Miles (no spoiler) fought Venom in the hospital, and then continued to purchase the book for the following arc where he was reluctant to play Spidey again. I'm trying to think of why I dropped it at that point, maybe it was just that Miles went back to being Spider-Man and that felt (to me) like the story was over, back to status quo. But I like the characters to be involved with the All-New team, hoping that SHIELD stays out of it. And the title rename to MM:USM reminds me of "Peter Parker: Spider-Man" where they had some good, street level tales (and alot of god awful crossovers), so we will see where things go. Anybody all-in or all-out on these titles already?

I've actually been a big fan of the Ultimates universe for a long time, but I agree with the whole "world destroy/kill a bunch of heroes/new status quo/repeat" thing (I'm looking at you Ultimatum). That being said, I'm actually really super excited for two out of the three books coming out for the "All-New Ultimate" line. Ultimate Comics All-New Spider-Man was one of my favorite series in recent memory and I've really grown to love Miles as a superhero. I've also grown to love his rag-tag group of superbuddies (Cloak and Dagger, Bombshell, Spider-Woman/Black Widow, Kitty Pryde) so it makes me super excited for All-New Ultimates, which is essentially just that team. As for Miles Morales: Ultimate Spider-Man, I'm definitely excited, since it's essentially the same team as UC:ANSM, so I'm looking forward to seeing Miles grow as a hero. As for All-New Ultimate FF, I could care less, but if I have extra funds I might check out the first issue since you never really know. So I'm 2/3 of the way all-in

I've been a fan of the ultimate U since the beginning. I'm excited for all three titles, After reading issue 200 of ult Spidey, I'm completely invested in everything going on in that world. Good lord that was a spectacular issue. I'm all in. Ult FF could go either way, but I'm expecting big things out of the ultimate and Spidey.

I can't wait for the new Ultimate line. Its so good its only 3 books so its not a huge ask to read them. I love the fact the Ultimate universe strays away from massive events and crossovers like the 616 which is why I just can't bring myself to read so many Marvel books. But Miles Morales, over the past couple months, has become one of my favourite characters of all time. I have since gone back and read the whole Ultimate Spider-Man run and it is at worst good. There's never a low point. Ultimatum especially and then onto the re-numbering had me loving these characters so so much. And Death of Spider-Man absolutely gutted me. So good. And glad to hear more people are excited. I've always viewed the Ultimate comics as almost fan fiction and never felt a part of everything. But good stories are good stories. And Bendis' Peter and now Miles are my Spider-Man... Men.

Coming off #200 I love the idea of the condensed books. Ultimate looks rad and like something new, Bendis 14 years running on ultimate Spiderman that's unreal especially for a modern big two comic run.

I'll be honest, I'm not in love with the preview art for All-New Ultimates. Maybe I could get into it, but the art on MM:USM is always so great that it's hard not to love that book. And Ultimate FF looks like, I don't even know what. I just feel like, when you look at each Ultimate re-launch (because that's what they HAVE to do after these "events"), the artists they bring on are some of the best in the business. Art Adams, Paco Medina, David Lafuente, Sara Pichelli, Esad Ribic, Ron Garney, Frank Cho.. the list goes on. I just feel like the imprint has lost the magic it had from being "based in reality", to now where impossible, biblical level disasters happen. I'll check out ANU no doubt, but I think it will really take a heck of a first issue to get me re(-re-re)-invested in this story again.
