Well I tracked down the last 3 issues this week (just read them tonight), and I'm so glad I voted this best mini series of 2014. Such an enjoyable read. Not a drop in pace, and so much world building in just 6 issues. When I think back so much was explored, and the ending was very heartwarming. This would make a terrific movie. I loved the character of Duke. What a legend! Yes, this is a definite must buy when the trade comes out...

I hear it's being made into a movie but Idk if that's true I heard that as well; from what I understand, it was optioned right around the same time the first issue dropped, if not before. Would make for a really fun movie.

It's the perfect sci fi superhero story, for me at least. I'm a huge fan of it. It's probably my favorite mini series I've read in a long time.

When I was thinking about my Best Ofs for the year, this was one of the few categories (along with Best Publisher, Best Web/Digital, and Best OGN) that didn't require any consideration or deliberation whatsoever. It's a grand-slam, a little gem of a story, and I still find it a little hard to believe that Millar wrote it; it comes across as a very non-Millar sort of story, in a good way.

I agree totally, I'm not a huge Millar fan. I actually read the first issue not knowing he wrote it. When I thought of my best ofs it was my first thought, with out a hitch. It's a bit campy, but it's part of the charm. It's a wonderful powerful story of faith and over coming incredible odds. Plus the art is top notch.

I picked up the trade for this last night and am about 3 issues into it. Love it so much! I'm in the same boat as many here about Millar, I absolutely love Red Son and Old Man Logan but other than that its either a bit meh but mostly I was put off by his huge delays. And then it got to the point where I didn't even give his new number 1's a go just because I knew I wouldn't get any closure for the next 10 years. So unfortunately this and Jupiters Legacy never had a chance. But I burned through th first 3 issues of this without even noticing the time passing. Now I can't wait to give JL a go too once the trade is out.

Woooo! I'm glad you dig it man. It's charming from beginning to end. It's like a giant wave of fresh spring air!

For some reason I didn't even know this was a mini so to get an actual ending was an even better surprise. Mark Millar is officially off my "avoid" list.
