Love it or hate it?
I personally love it and it is one of my favorite movies of all time after LOTR, Star Wars and TDK.
I also think that one day it will become a cult classic.

Its actually my favorite Zack Snyder movie (which admittedly, isnt saying much). I liked it a lot and I noticed it got a lot of people in my surroundings curious about comics. More so then with any other comicbook-movie friends and collegues were coming up to me with questions about the comic.

Sucker Punch and Man of Steel were let downs for me. Hopefully he can go 3 from 5 with Batman/Superman.

Love it or hate it? I personally love it and it is one of my favorite movies of all time after LOTR, Star Wars and TDK. I also think that one day it will become a cult classic. Wonderful adaptation and very well acted by everyone involved. Jackie Earle Haley especially nailed Rorschach. I really didn't mind the ending being changed either. The only letdown for me was Matthew Goode as Ozymandias. I wasn't convinced about his casting from the beginning and he lacked the athleticism, grace, and boy scout veneer of the character. The conflicted feeling at the end was missing as the guy just screams "BAD GUY" from the off. Visually, you cannot beat that grand look from Zack Snyder but after Sucker Punch he should've made a few smaller films in order to practice his scripts rather than learning his way through the DCU. His characters are always really heavy-handed. I thought Man Of Steel had so much going for it and I enjoyed it more than most but after being bludgeoned over the head with the Space Jesus angle, I was ready to weigh in a few verbal punches myself.

I enjoyed it quite a bit. Obviously not an easy book to transition in to film, but I thought the casting was damn good and it was entertaining. More fun to watch the extended edition that includes the comic strip scenes, if you're a fan of the book.

The great thing about this film was that it finally gave everyone a balanced barometer for Internet Complaining. Rather than hearing everyone lost their collective minds over the lack of fidelity to the source material, we got to see that the whole audience will never be happy no matter how faithful you are in the other direction.
Great to see the different reactions on here.

I actually saw the film (at the cinema) before I'd read the graphic novel. I didn't have a clue what to expect from the film, and therefore I didn't expect it to match a loved piece of fiction. I really enjoyed it at the cinema (though I was a little baffled by some aspects of the plot). I liked it enough to seek out the book, which I thought was fantastic. So I'd say I like the book and the film equally. It may have been a good thing for me to have seen the film first.

I think it helps to not have that pre-existing attachment to things. Only difference is I really don't like the V for Vendetta comic. I love the film. But Watchmen I love both, especially the Ultimate Cut. 4 hours of awesome. Its a shame that version didnt get a more wide release. I hope in the years to come it'll be recognized for how incredible it is.

I still haven't seem/read V for Vendetta.... Which is kind of cool. I might go the same way as with Watchmen and check out the DVD first. If nothing else it will give me a general understanding of the premise of the book.

Love it. LOVE. And i'm not generally a Snyder fan at all; 300 was good the first time but has no rewatchability, Sucker Punch was atrocious, and Man of Steel is one of the worst things i've ever seen and I wanted so badly to turn it off and kill it with fire nearly the entire time it was on.
That being said, he did neuter the ending, but everything else was spot on, especially with the animated bits thrown back into it. I'll never understand people who like the comic but hate on this movie.

If nothing else it will give me a general understanding of the premise of the book. Oh, V, the movie, is incredible. Must see. I love the comic, too, but the art and coloring is very outdated; the movie is a magnificent, brilliantly shot and acted adaptation. In the Wachowskis I trust. Except for Matrix 3, which was colossally disappointing, BUT OTHERWISE, pure gold from those guys . . er, people.
