Hey everybody!!!
Name: Andy Where I'm From: Green Bay, Wisconsin How I Got Into Comics: I read them as a kid and then took that 10-12 year break that seems so popular. I've just recently gotten back into reading comics the last 6 months. I'm very excited! What I'm Reading: A lot of things. I read mostly Image and Vertigo books. Batman and the new Harley Quinn are the only DC titles I read. I read a handful of MArvel books like Hawkeye, Deadpool, and Indestructible Hulk (just started w/ #16), among a few other new titles. Prized Geek Possession: a retweet from Neil Gaiman lol

Name: Seth Where I'm From: Gettysburg, PA How I Got Into Comics: Fairly new to comics but my interests began in the 90's with Batman Animated and X-Men cartoon among others. I love reading and collecting things so it seemed like a formidable hobby to take on. Interest was also peaked as a Smodcast and Kevin Smith fan. Listening the the many podcast's over there (Fatman on Batman, Tell Em Steve Dave, I Sell Comics) made me search for other podcast's on the topic of Comics and ultimately stumbling on Talking Comics. What I'm Reading: Being somewhat new I am trying a super wide range of authors and publishers. Manifest Destiny, Saga, Batman, Batman and, Batgirl, East of West are a few that I am loving right now. Prized Geek Possession: Signed Snyder/Capullo Batman #1
Looking forward to watching this forum grow and I hope it reaches its full potential.

Welcome Andy and Seth!
You're sure to have fun around these parts, although I keep hearing that we're bad for peoples wallets! With so much cool new stuff coming out, you're going to end up buying (and loving!) something you wouldn't have without a recommendation from one of us!
Sorry in advance, Bob

How I Got Into Comics: My mother felt sorry for me cause I didn't have any friends. One day my mother brought home a copy of Batman 492. I was hooked. ... Are you Mister Glass? (from Unbreakable).

Sorry in advance, Bob Thanks Bob, your apology is appreciated. I don't remember who it was exactly who began the discussion on the best of podcasts, but I'm now hunting down a copy of Strange Attractors. I always appreciate a good recommendation, even if my wallet pays the price...

Name: Cliff Where I'm From: Albany Area, NY (stop hating on Upstate NY! lol We have a huge comic following here, great local cons and are the farthest thing from Canadians you could get) How I Got Into Comics: watching a video of people waiting in line for Spidey #700 at Midtown in NYC, though hey I should own that! The rest is history. I am definitely one of those mythical comic readers that jumped on board in his late 20s and have never looked back since! What I'm Reading: Lots of Image stuff. East of West, Saga, Manifest Destiny, Pretty Deadly, Thief of Thieves, Chew, Walking Dead, Fatale, Mind the Gap, Three, Coffin Hill, Mind MGMT, Star Wars, Star Wars Legacy, Indestructible Hulk (my guilty pleasure), Guardians of the Galaxy, X-Men Prized Geek Possession: Either my Star Wars #1 sketch variant or my 3 framed Star Wars movie posters (New Hope, Empire and Jedi) that my wife graciously allowed me to put above the couch in the living room.

Welcome Cliff and Joe!
To quote Captain Marvel from issue #17: "We've got a good gang", which I'm sure that you'll find out during your conversations with them!
Cliff, I've already apologized to Jersey City; have I insulted our friends Upstate without knowing it? If so, my humblest regrets! After all, without you guys we downstaters wouldn't have drinking water, produce, dairy, the Baseball Hall of Fame, Niagara Falls..or Sing Sing; how could we send folks "up the river"?
Joe, in your honor, I'll do my best to get the Transformers sub-title correctly tonight!

Hello everyone, I have been listening to the podcast for a few months now and really like it and hope the forums can help me find comics to fill my collection. Name: Pedro Where: Seattle How I got into Comics: I started reading marvel comics from the 7-11 as a kid What I'm Reading: Marvel (New Avengers, Hawkeye, Guardians of the Galaxy, Indestructible Hulk) Valiant (Bloodshot, X-0 Manowar, Unity) DC (Batman Beyond 2.0, Justice League Beyond, Injustice) Indy (Sex Criminals, Shoalin Cowboy) Prized Geek Possession: Toss up between my 3 foot tall Optimus statue or my Alex Ross acrylic painting of the Justice League God I miss spinner racks. I don't remember my local 7-11 carrying comics, but man did i love buying candy there every morning before school and playing Street Fighter II everyday after school. Funny you should mention that. Street Fighter 2 was the other reason I was at 7-11. I actually bought the same champion ship stand up that I played at 7-11 for my home

I was just telling my wife the story about how I was in the car and I believe it was Bobby that said anything above Westchester was considered upstate and we might as well be Canadians. It was like on a sitcom where I did the slow head turn towards the radio with big eyes. It made me laugh afterwards hahaha. I just had to give you guys crap. I was so close to coming down to LI for the 100th episode. Maybe for 200! Im so excited to be here on the forums and thanks for the welcome Bob!

Hey everyone! New to the boards but I've been listening forever! Love comics, movies, games and anything geeky. Love the podcast, I listen to it every Wednesday on the way to work and back. I'm happy to have found the forums and community attached to the podcast. I'm from central Florida, anyone else from my neck of the woods? I'm sure we all have similar stories about out parents buying us comics as kids or getting into them from the animated series. Looking forward to chatting with you all!

"Addy" & "Wreck",
Sorry that I've been slacking---welcome to the Talking Comics Forum! There are a lot of super folks on here already, and so great to add two more!
(Cliff, we "Lower Eight" downstaters do tend to think of New York in those terms, sad to say! rrr)
