The original 89 Batman is easily one of my favorites. It's the first movie I remember seeing more than once in theaters. The entire Nolan Batman trilogy is great and I think the Dark Knight is easily the best comic movie ever. Will take a lot to beat it. I also still hold X2 and the second Spider-Man Rami film in high regard. I think cause we have been so spoiled of late people forget how good those films were. Avengers was also an awesome film. I really like Thor the Dark World as well this past year. And I am reluctant to admit this as I open myself up to ridicule lol but Green Lantern film is a guilty pleasure of mine. I know it's terrible, there's no denying that but I love it none the less. You're not the only one who likes it. I recognize that it isn't a very good movie but I still love it. Some of the special features on the Blu-Ray are fascinating, especially the stuff with Geoff Johns.

My all time best is the 89 Batman movie. I saw it after watching the Batman animated series and it was the next best thing for me at that time.

Avengers is my all time favorite.Watched it once in the cinema and about 3 times on dvd which for me is a lot because i usually only watch a movie 1 or 2 times. But i really love how it just works so good, all these different heroes, which could have easily been a disaster.
Really like the Iron Man movies too, especially the first one. Here you got a hero who i never was really interested in but thanks to Downey i now am.
Captain America and Thor are good too for the most part, Incredible Hulk i thought was good(really hope they make a new one).Maybe its me but i didn't think the Daredevil movie was so bad, could have been better but i thought it was a decent action flick.
I only watched the first Hellboy movie but i need to watch it again cause it was a long time ago and i need to watch the second one too.
As for the DC ones i only liked but not loved the Dark Knight Trilogy, the rest i'm not really interested in(but i do want to see Batman vs Superman when it comes out though).

I would have to go with the animated adaptation of dark knight returns. It stuck so well with the miller story and delivered what most fans were craving forever. In part 2 the scene fighting the joker is probably one of the most brutally violent fights I've watched.
If I have to choose non animated I think I will go with dredd. It is one of the few movies I've watched more than once that isn't a horror movie or "falling down".
I think in ine of the few people that just didn't like Heath ledger as the joker at all, otherwise I would be more inclined toward that series of films.

If I had to list my favorites so far I'd have to go Kick-Ass, Hellboy, Captain America, both Thor's, the first Iron Man, Blade, Sin City, 89 Batman and The Avengers.
Pacific Rim did have a prequel comic but I'm not sure you can classify that as a comic book movie haha.

In part 2 the scene fighting the joker is probably one of the most brutally violent fights I've watched. i loved this one too, especially peter weller's icy, detached take on batman. i've really enjoyed the first phase of the marvel movies, leading up to and including avengers. they got the tone of iron man, cap, and thor just right. all those films stand up to multiple viewings. and thanks to bookend57 for reminding me about scott pilgrim - fantastic comic book movie. real shame it didn't do well theatrically...

I also loved the animated versions of both The Dark Knight Returns and Year One. Like many noted, at first I missed having the internal monologue voiceover, but I think it worked for the film to omit it most of the time. I just saw the new Dredd and enjoyed much more than I thought. I'm fine with movie violence, but usually don't like highly stylized violence, but for some reason it really worked for me in Dredd. I like that it was a very contained, street-level story. I'm amazed how much acting someone can do with just his chin! At least with Batman you can see his eyes. If they do a sequel with Karl Urban as Dredd, I hope they do something on a larger scale, maybe something featuring Judge Death.

My favourites have got to be The Crow, Iron Man and Thor. '89 Batman too (though the Christian Bale ones don't do anything for me). I actually thought Watchmen was pretty good. I saw it before ever having read the graphic novel (which I have since read and it kicks the movie's ass!).

The Rocketteer really nailed it. I wore my VHS out as a kiddy. Captured the comic well; captured the period well; adorable acting. Fun and charming film.

Don't know if its really a superhero movie, but just saw Dredd and i liked it. Just a badass flick with a simple but good story, nothing too complicated.Liked the slo-mo effects too.
Karl Urban is quickly becoming one my favorite actors right now(he's great in Almost Human too).
