In the forums so far we've brought up a lot of current or upcoming superhero/comic films. But what are some of your favorite superhero movies to have ever come out. This can range from The Dark Knight Trilogy to Christopher Reeve's Superman. You have a favorite? Let everyone know. They can even be obscure ones that nobody has heard of.

I'm just putting this out there - I loved Ben Affleck as Daredevil *runs and hides* I really like the Director's Cut of the film if that's any consolation. For me I love the first two Batman and Superman movies as well as The Dark Knight Trilogy. All those are great films

I still enjoy the Hellboy movies, a lot of Easter eggs from the series and stuff. V for Vendetta too. (Even have a soft spot for the Scott Pilgrim movie)
I enjoy a lot of the DC animated movies too, the Batman Dark Knight Returns part 1 & 2 are pretty sweet, and All star superman, Justice League: The New Frontier - in particular but their all of a good quality.

Batman: Mask of the Phantasm will always have a big place in my heart. Same with a lot of those classic 90s DC animated films.

Man, if it was just Comic movies rather than superhero ones I'd give The Losers based on Andy Diggle and Jock's vertigo series. Favourite superhero film is maybe Kick-Ass or The Incredibles or the original Darkman Film with Liam Neeson. Honourable mention to Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance, not a great film but a fun watch.

I'm sure it's a popular choice but the the dark knight is my favorite. It's showed what the genre could do.

I think this often gets overlooked, but one of my favourite comic adaptations to film is Neil Gaiman and Charles Vess' Stardust. I ADORE the movie so freaking much. I don't even know how many times I've watched it, but I make all of my friends check it out and if they don't like it... THEY'RE DEAD TO ME!
Ok, not really, but I do love the film.

I'm sure we can all agree that Green Lantern just wins hands down greatest film of ever ever! I was on the edge of my seat when that big nasty cloud of farts rocked up on earth and stunk the place out! (Or was that Ryan Renalds?) seriously though he would be great in a dead pool movie. Avengers is my favourite film just in front of the batman series.

Ya know, Stardust WAS actually a really good movie. I'll admit I wasn't enamored with it the first time I watched it but subsequent viewings have made me enjoy the film more and more.
And yeah, Green Lantern. That was...a film. Just like Origins...can we just get that Deadpool movie already?

Surprised I missed Stardust from my list, although not surprised I completely missed the point of the thread and listed some general comic book movies rather than Superhero ones. I still stand by Hellboy though!

As far as outright favourite comic book movie goes, I absolutely love Avengers. If you'd have told me 10 years ago that we'd get to see all those superheroes in the same movie and for it to be as much fun as it was, I'd have called you crazy. I really like The Dark Knight trilogy as well. But for me, I still feel like we're yet to have the definitive Batman movie. I want to see 'The Long Halloween' type Batman on screen.

The Avengers film certainly takes some beating, I also enjoy the 70s Dr Strange film, although it does fall into the 'so bad it's good' catagory. I'm probably on my own with this one, but I quite liked the Man Thing film as well.

What are some thoughts on The Phantom? I really enjoyed that movie as a kid

The original 89 Batman is easily one of my favorites. It's the first movie I remember seeing more than once in theaters.
The entire Nolan Batman trilogy is great and I think the Dark Knight is easily the best comic movie ever. Will take a lot to beat it.
I also still hold X2 and the second Spider-Man Rami film in high regard. I think cause we have been so spoiled of late people forget how good those films were.
Avengers was also an awesome film. I really like Thor the Dark World as well this past year.
And I am reluctant to admit this as I open myself up to ridicule lol but Green Lantern film is a guilty pleasure of mine. I know it's terrible, there's no denying that but I love it none the less.
