Think it could be great and it makes sense since the Guardians movie comes out round that time too. Skottie Young seems like the right artist for this kind of character, definitely going to check it out.

Love to see Skottie doing art but has anyone ever read any of his writing?

I don't know about this. I think Rocket is a great supporting character, but I'm not into the idea of him as a lead. Hopefully I'm proven wrong.

I'm in! My wife and I are obsessed with raccoons as is, throw in snide humor and I'm sold. Also Skottie Young's art is fun, his updates on instagram look great!

Definitely seems like a marketing push, although I don't think it helps ticket sales to the film at all. I'll definitely check out the first few issues. I'll say that I know every little about the Guardians and am looking to get the Abnett run in TPB. For those more knowledgable, how can Rocket hold up on his own in a solo book?

He is pretty much Han Solo in a body of a Raccoon.....that carries big guns and Skottie Young has mentioned this book will be up to 11 in the action and insanity. So I see it doing well honestly, if not for the story then for the art as it will help to give that feeling of insanity.

Skotties written a Magneto mini before that I liked. And he certainly has an amazing sense of humor (as proved by his artbooks and Marvel covers). So im pretty confident he will knock this out of the park. And if (worst case scenario) his writing does suck we will at least have some pretty art to look at
