So - a very strong week and still working my way through the digital pile, but here are some of the highlights for me:
Black Science #4 - Amazing stuff - the art is spectaculat as always (putting me in mind of all the paint and ink Euro comics I used to admire without understanding on visits to France and Italy in the 80's). The web of flashbacks and revelations keeps sending me back to previous issues for a re-read, which has to be a good thing! Black Science has the great distinction of having grown on me even though I really liked the first issue I read.
Rat Queens #5 - I'll just give it a great big Hell Yeah! and leave it at that...
Thunderbolts #22 - Once again, much better than it has any right to be. Charles Soule's legal background shows almost as much as in She Hulk, and to good effect.
Mighty Avengers #7 - The writing positively bubbles with personality (as usual) and now that it has properly emerged from crossover event purgatory there is a solid plot brewing as well.
Miracleman #3 - Not only am I still enjoying the recoloured artwork (now with added Alan Davis) but they keep on digging out historic material I've never seen before.
Not highlights at all... Guardians of the Galaxy #12 - It's competent, but suffers from the aforementioned crossover quagmire. I don't read any of the X-books, so most of this is lost on me.
Brother Lono #8 - 7/8 of this was a solid story of a very bad man seeking redemption. This final issue managed (for me) the unlikely double failure of going over the top and falling flat at once. Disappointing.
Not yet read (but looking forward to)... The Wake #6 Manhatten Projects #18 Hawkeye #15

Anybody check out Gail Simone's Tomb Raider #1 yet?
I had the chance to read it last night and am experiencing some mixed thoughts. I was hoping that perhaps any of you would care to share what you thought of the book.

Wraith #4 was awesome, I enjoyed the Wake #6, although not as much as I enjoyed the first 5 issues. A good set up for the future section of the series. Black Science continued to ace, as did Mighty Avengers. Miracleman was probably the best book I read this week.

While I have a bunch to still get through, I think it is going to be hard for any book to top Hawkeye 15. Another stellar issue in this stellar run.
Coming a close second is The Wake 6. I loved the world building and, like Hawkeye, a killer final page. This is top-notch serial story telling.
Is anyone else following the First Contact Batman/Superman + Worlds' Finest crossover? The Jae Lee art is AMAZING (as expected) but what I really want to talk about is the contrast between B/S and WF. In Lee's art, we have Power Girl gorgeously rendered. She is never objectified - there isn't even a single frontal view of her - but is shown as powerful and beautiful. Ok. After experiencing the stunning art in Part One, let's see how things are going over in Part 2...GAH! The FIRST thing you see on page 1 is a view down into PG's cleavage. I didn't read any further. I had to put the book down (but will return to it later). The thing is, the way PG has been depicted as of late in the series isn't sexy, it isn't cheesecake or even winking. It is just gratuitous and distracts from everything else. Do they think they can sell more books by focusing on the character's boobs? I can't imagine that this is a solid strategy. I'd hazard to guess that sales would jump dramatically if an artist of the calibre of Lee were put on it. Definitely will not be filing WF under "favourites".

Worlds' Finest was so great when you had old pros George Perez and Kevin Maguire on board illustrating Paul Levitz's finely-wrought "buddy cop" story; how the mighty have fallen!

Hands down Hawkguy #15 was my pick of the week! I'm glad we are back to the misadventures of Clint! Such a great mix of humor and drama and that ending!!!!!.....other books, Superior Spider-Man #28...the downfall of Otto starts and is nice to see MJ being the wildcard in all of this. GOTG #12 was ok, I enjoyed the tender moments between Scott and Corsair and Scott and Laura (and also the snarks of Peter and Rocket).
Other than that I need to read Chew #40 later....

The book of the week most definitely Wolverine and the X-men #42, the series conclusion. Jason Aaron wrote one of the best final issues for a series I've ever read. A close second would be Mighty Avengers #7, this series is quickly becoming the book we all knew it could become.

I would also recommend reading A Plus X #4 before reading issue #42, there is a nice little nod to it. Can't wait for the Wolverine and the X-men #1 that comes out next week.

Heyo,
Only had 3 books come in this week.
Thunderbolts #22 Indestructible Hulk #19.INH(How can Marvel not realize just how stupid this numbering stuff is?) Fantastic 4 #1
Hulk was a decent issue. This is a series that IMO started off really, really well with the premise but then quickly turned into a time-travel mess(I guess it wasn't bad, just seemed goofy), and ever since it jumped into the Inhumanity arc has been really pretty darn good.(stupid numbering aside.)
Thunderbolts - I'm really liking this series, the past few issues have been just great, and I thought the last panel on the last page was just killer. Ghost Rider FTW.
FF - Well another FF relaunch but...maybe I'll talk about it in an FF thread...
- Beau

Batman/Superman 8 -thank goodness that Jae Lee is back. Very interesting new arc starting. Flash 28 - I really liked the supernatural serial killer story with deadman making an appearance. Batman TDK 28 - after a great human smuggling/slavery arc, we got another man-bat story to finish of this book in 29. Not a fan of man-bat. The Wake 6 - haven't read yet. I'm going to go back and retread 1-5 first.

They have really been pushing the character in the nu52 & for the life of me I cannot understand why. There are so many more compelling villians. If anyone here is a fan I'd love to hear what the appeal is for you.

Shop never got The Wake in, but I'm definitely going to pick it up this week.
For me it was between Wolverine and the X-Men #42 (the feels I felt the past couple issues...man) or First Contact Part 1 and 2 (Batman/Superman and World's Finest)
