This is speculative at this point since it looks like it will be confirmed Friday, but Boom might be putting out a Big Trouble in Little China comic. Eric Powell who did the art of the teaser image said more news is coming Friday, but to sum up Eric the Goon Powell doing a classic Carpenter/Russell collaboration.
If you haven't seen this film about a hapless American truck driver who stumbles and bumbles his way through a mystic Chinese war, I recommend you give it a rental.

Wylie, "Big Trouble..." is one of those films that flew under the radar at its release, but has picked up a nice following since on home video! It is one of my favorite "odd-ball" films, as it doesn't quite fit in any one genre, but what it does have is a great sense of fun and adventure! I just re-watched it about two weeks, and it never fails to be entertaining! I'll have to check out what Boom! has to say, thanks!

No problem Bob. I think you feel the same as I do about this film. It has always been one of my favorite oddball films and love the idea that it might come back in a comic book form. Jack Burton is just a great character.

It's all in the reflexes... "Jack Burton looks that storm right in the eye and says 'Gimme your best shot pal--I can take it!' "

Absolutely love this film. One of my favorites growing up.
2 of my favorite quotes:
Gracie: I'd go with you but... Jack Burton: I know, there's a problem with your face.
and
Jack Burton: [speaking to Lo Pan] Are you crazy... Is that your problem?

My wife has not yet seen this movie so I will be making her watch it this month. The good thing about this coming out from Boom! is that it stands a decent shot of making it in sales. And Powell art is so good. Here is the link: www.comicbookresources.com/?page=article&id=51124

Hope everyone got the scoop. The further adventures of Jack Burton in 1986 will be available through Boom on June 4th written by Eric Powell and drawn by Brian Churilla. If this book isn't in your hand by June 4th, call the President.

So, did anyone else pick this one up? I've got both issues so far and I'm loving it. At first I thought #1 was sort of pushing the goofiness a bit too far but upon rereading it I really liked it. I thought #2 nailed it. There are a couple of panels with Jack's face that just crack me up, they really got the character down well. The writing is also spot on, just like the movie. This one is definitely staying on my pull list.
