I'm sticking with Amazing only and also Miles Morales(which I also like the best out of the two Spider-books) It's always good to see somebody else reading Miles. I know lots of peopole do, but its SUCH a good book and has been so consistent over the years, its a shame it doesn't get as much attention as say Hawkeye or Captain Marvel do. Every character is interesting. I feel like I read it for the Ganke, MJ, Gwen, May, JJ etc moments as much as I read it for Miles. But I just have this fear that it'll get cancelled. I'm buying 3 copies of it a month, 1 for me, 1 for my littel brother and 1 because it deserves it. Also did you pick up All-New X-Men this week? Loving the Ultimate universe cross-over. As far as I know is the best selling of all Ultimate books, and having Bendis in it I doubt it will be cancelled anytime soon (plus Miles is so popular he has made it into animation). And yes, this arc will be great!

*BUMP* so far so good for Spider-verse
I honestly didn't understand the criticism of Edge of Spider-verse? They are one-shots if you want them to be, or a precursor to the event if you want them to be

*BUMP* so far so good for Spider-verse I honestly didn't understand the criticism of Edge of Spider-verse? They are one-shots if you want them to be, or a precursor to the event if you want them to be It’s a one-shot if you ignore the last 2 panels of The Edge of Spider-Verse #2. If they did their job properly (which I think they did), they’ve now hooked you into reading the Spider-Verse event, which is, what, 20 books including tie-ins? That’s an extraordinary investment of money and reading time. Obviously, only Stephanie can explain the reasoning behind her comments, however, I think I can understand where she's coming from. I'm not the kind of person who can be satisfied with leaving a portion of the story unread (unless it’s just abysmal), so events have gotten to be an all or nothing kind of deal for me. I enjoyed Edge of Spider-Verse #2 and I’m grateful that Jason Latour and Robbi Rodriguez used this event as an opportunity to provide an excellent story about a character we may have never seen otherwise. I just wish that in order to follow Gwen Stacy’s adventures and finish her reading story I only had to add one, at most two, new titles a month to my pull list, rather than six.

You don't need 6 books to follow her adventures, she will be in the main Amazing Spider-Man story and 1 issue of Spider-Verse Team Up....the rest feature other characters (2099 has him and Six-Armed Spider-Man and a Steam-Punk Spider-Woman for example). I guess by now I know that when it comes to events not all tie-ins are needed to be read, Marvel and DC have been doing a good job since the days of Civil War in lowering the number of books that are -TRULY important for an event. But again, on my case I'm able to determine what I want to read and not feel forced to follow a check list when it comes to them...for Spider-Verse I'm not reading 2099 or Spider-Woman.

I'm also guessing a series is going to come up in the next year or so based on how amazingly this was received. Leaving here stranded in the 616 is a good way for htem to get a young Gwen Stacy back...or they could send her back to HER universe and have an out-of-continuity series alongside Miles Morales.

You are right - you don't. You know that. You know what you want to read and what you are going to leave alone. You are familiar with the spider corner of the universe and the various characters that populate it, as well as the way the Big 2 design their events. But imagine, for a second, the person who only has a passing familiarity with such things. They pick up Edge of Spider-Verse #2 to get a look at Gwen Stacy. With the last two panels they know that there's more to come for this character in the actual Spider-Verse event. They flip the page and see the checklist for the Edge of Spider-Verse event. Nowhere in the book does it say "You don't need 6 books to follow her adventures, she will be in the main Amazing Spider-Man story and 1 issue of Spider-Verse Team Up". Can you really blame someone for getting a little frustrated and walking away? Yes, they can do the research and figure out they only have to pick up a few books. Yes, they could wait for the reviews and then pick up just the books that sound interesting. However, that reflects a level of commitment and investment that they may not have the time or desire to give.

I didn't think this deserved its own thread, so this seems like a good place to bring it up. Anyone see the Spider Women redesign? I think it looks great, but it looks like they were totally inspired by the new Batgirl costume.

I think it's okay. It's very Batgirl. I do think that her current costume is bad and is ready for a change.

***SPOILERS***
So I didn't know if I should put this in Spiderman thread or Spiderverse thread, but...
They brought back Uncle Ben?!? I know we have to see where this goes, but I remember Bob saying on one of the podcasts that this is one character he never thought would be back... thoughts?

Is an alternate universe version....so not much of a big deal as we seen this before (I believe it was PAD who had a story with Spider-Man 2199 and a murderous Uncle Ben)

I see. I was in comics when I was a kid and then out for a while. Just got back in about a year or two ago. I missed all of 2099 so I didn't know this had been done.
The "alternate universe" stories kind of bum me out.
I do really like Amazing and I want to see where this story goes.
It seems weird but I dont really like the "Inheritors" I kind of want Amazing to get back to the villains I knew and loved, but new stuff is cool to learn about as well and it is a really nice looking and well written book so eh.

I'm loving this story as I'm a sucker for alternate realities or different versions of characters meeting (hence why I'm loving Multiversity as well). But at the same time Uncle Ben showing up at the end while an interesting twist at least FOR ME is not a "OMG!!! AHDGSHGDSFGSUYAFL!!" moment as I expected there could be some Uncle Ben's alive.
Of course the fact that he is the totem of this world is interesting in itself and I can't wait for the next issue to see where this goes..

Spiderverse completely lost me, like, three issues of Amazing ago. I think I'll just jump back on when it's all over.
