Hi, Bobby! Nice to see you have your own space. First, congrats on getting engaged! I know there are some horror stories out there, but I loved my wedding and love being married. I wanted to ask what kind of creative projects you have going on outside of Talking Comics. Have you ever tried your hand at writing any comics? Look forward to following this thread.

Nice!
My question that I've been wanting to ask lately is this: I know you mentioned at one point that you didn't get into comics until New 52 happened. What made you decide to start studying and reading all these books? As in, what was your trigger?
Also- Good luck in you wedding, dude!

I'm the happiest I've ever been with Karen (my fiancée) and I'm really excited to be a husband. As far as creative projects outside of TC go; I've been working on several ideas over the past few months. One of which is a short film that in currently working on scripting. I have considered writing comics for a few years now and I have two ideas, one an all ages title and the other a sci fi epic, that I've been developing for a longtime. It's my resolution this year to actually finish one of those projects so you will be hearing a lot about it in future weeks and months! Thank you for asking!

What made you decide to start studying and reading all these books? As in, what was your trigger? Also- Good luck in you wedding, dude! I've always loved comic book related things - X-Men, Spider Man and Batman cartoons, movies, video games etc. And bad dabbled in reading graphic novels for a long time, but I never felt like I had an in road to try out an ongoing series. That was until the New 52 and the extreme marketing push they put behind relaunching the universe. I was finally able to read a Flash book without prior knowledge, same with Batman, Aquaman and so on. It also helped a lot that they were digitally released because at the time I didn't have a regular store to visit. I still remember the moment where issue two of Animal Man and Batman came out and I had this awesome realization that in comics you got to read great stories from writers you love every month. That's when I got hooked on the medium. Why did I start digging back and doing research into past runs? Because I don't like doing anything if I'm not going to do it full out. So, I just went further and further down the rabbit hole until we are where we are today. Thank you for your question and thank you for the kind wishes!

Hey Bobby, thanks for all the work you guys do on the site, the podcast, and setting up this awesome forum! I was curious if you have any particular character from the "Big Two" that you collect issues of? Personally, I only buy back issues and physical copies of comics for my favorite characters like Spider-man and Black Panther, anything else I buy digitally to save on space.

Thank you for the kind words Captain! It's funny you ask me about my collecting habits as they are about to change drastically. I recently moved in with my fiancée and while she has no issues with my comic book collection, I have begun to. I find that because there is no easy way to store them nicely I want them less and less. So I'm planning on selling runs of single issues in exchange for getting trades. That being said I do plan on still buying certain books monthly. Batman, Daredevil, Captain Marvel, Saga. To stay up on the things I love. The digital option is an awesome one and the only reason I don't pursue it is because we get good deals on physical books from our shop.

The digital option is an awesome one and the only reason I don't pursue it is because we get good deals on physical books from our shop. That's also why I don't jump on the digital game. I really wish that more publishers would do what Marvel does and put a digital code in the book (without raising the price, hopefully). Do you think Image/DC would do this at any point? I like this business tactic a lot- it keeps me supporting my local shop, and it fills my need to have something physical.

DC does do it with some books, but they are separate editions that cost more money. I think Image is a prime candidate, but because they are all creator owned I would assume it would be up to the people actually making those books.
It surprised me the other publishers have kept digital copies off the table. It's a tactic that costs them literally nothing and makes readers really happy. So, I can't imagine DC won't do it.

Hey Bobby, Congrats on the engagement. There is nothing like finding that special person. I agree I couldn't be happier! Ever thought it would happen. But now that it's here I can't imagine my life without her. Thank you so much for the kind words. Have you found that person?

Hi Bobby,
Great job on the show and congratulations on the engagement and impending wedding. I'm also tying the knot this year so I've enjoyed hearing glimpses of your ideas and the obvious excitement in the podcast.
Not related at all but I asked you a while ago on Twitter about hearing your views on the TV show, Lost. Having watched it all again recently and seeing your admiration for the show displayed here and there, I'd be really interested in hearing your views on it given the time (I know you must be really busy), especially as the majority opinion is one of apathy given how the show ended.
Thanks again, and keep up the great work.
PS: As a big Kevin Smith fan I was really pleased to see your interview with the man himself up a while back. My favourite part was the fade-out of the show where you thanked Mr Smith. Very heartfelt and great to hear.

LennyReid you are opening a can of worms with me when it comes to talking about Lost.
It's my favorite piece of TV by far, and one of my favorite pieces of fiction period. I'm writing from my phone right now, so I will go more in depth at a later day on my favorite episodes, moments and performances.
Outside the quality of the show though it meant a lot to me as a bonding experience between friends and family. The hours upon hours of conversations it inspired were worth it alone.
I'll never forget the night of the finale, my best friend and my mother came to my apartment and we cheered, laughed and cried our faces off. Not every episode was perfect, but nothing ever is. What it was though was important and we rarely get that.

I look forward to the comprehensive Lost-athon. You don't often hear a defence of Lost any more in-depth than: "If you don't get it there is no point explaining further". It sounds like the show was very personal to you.
I'm not a big nay-sayer and I'm not looking for justification for the show. Just an interested guy.
Commence the worm-can opening!

I too loved LOST, from start to finish, and accept it for what it was. I didn't try to put my ideas of what they should've done onto the final season or episode. So many of my friends seemed to write it off and say they were disappointed because they wanted MORE ANSWERS and then when they got them the answers weren't the correct ones.
