Who else is digging Velvet as much as me? I am loving Black Widow, but, at the moment, Velvet has already started an intriguing mystery that has a grip on me more than the set up going on in BW. Thanks again podcast for the recommendation.

The girl who works at my LCS put it onto my list without even telling me, because we were talking about how much I loved Brubaker. If it wasn't for her I probably would have never checked it out, but I'm glad she did.
I like the premise of the book alot... Spy stuff is a little bit over-done in comics (or any medium really) but I love her as a character. She's sexy, but not sexualized, smart witty and just plain badass. I like how they go from the perspective of an older spy.
The art is crisp and perfect. They are really good at telling an emotion solely based on someones facial expressions.

After issues #1 and #2 I was kind of luck warm on it. I really liked the art work and the writing was solid, but I just didn't the there was enough going on. However issue #3 was fantastic and having just read #4 I can say that I am 100% on board with this book. Things are picking up with the story and the artwork is still fantastic.

In #4, The Carnival of Fools cityscape panel is awesome. Also, the description of hand to hand combat paints one of the most realistic pictures I've read in any medium. Great comic.

Yep, loving this book. I was avoiding Brubaker after he broke up the Natasha/James relationship in Winter Soldier. But a book starring a 40ish woman was just too intriguing. And it hasn't disappointed. Velvet Templeton is a fully fleshed-out and realistic character. This book is second only to Black Widow on my list right now.

I don't know what it is about girl secret agents, but I am addicted to both of those titles as well!

Really enjoyed yesterday's issue (#5) but was confused about some of the chronology. Anyone else have that problem?

Really enjoyed yesterday's issue (#5) but was confused about some of the chronology. Anyone else have that problem? I've had problem with keeping up with the story through waiting for the single issues, so I think I'm just going to wait for trades on this series so I can enjoy it more.

Just read #5. The layers that are being added to this story are incredible. Literally I feel like I need to be taking notes to keep up. This isn't a complaint,. Like The Wake, I find myself rereading past issues quite frequently.

Yes, I am. The twist that I saw coming was still really really good (with the guy in the asylum)
