Gotta love Who!
Being from Cardiff I happen across filming every now and then and they were filming near where I work earlier this week.
Peter Capaldi looks very cool and pretty suave in his suit.

It reminds me of the third doctor. So i'm hoping for some martial arts.

I love Doctor Who.
I'm really excited for Capaldi, because I feel like he might mellow out the role of the doctor. Matt Smith was just annoying to me after the first season and a half. I really want the doctor to be more clever and witty rather than obnoxious and childish. Plus, Matt Smith seemed really cocky.
I'm pumped for the new season to start.
What are your guys' favorite episodes? Mines GOTTA be "The Impossible Astronaut". Of all the seasons of the show this was the most intense, scary, and confusing episodes in a long time. Plus the way they brought it around full circle at the end of the series was amazing. I wish I could watch that whole series for the first time again.

My favorite episode would either have to be The Doctor's Daughter or The Talons of Weng-Chaing

I'm a huge Doctor Who fan from way back - I think I started following the show in 1986. Love Capaldi and his new costume, can't wait for the new series to start!
I have to be predictable and say Blink and Midnight are my favorite episodes of the new series. In the original series, my favorite is The Deadly Assassin, hands down.

I saw all of the Eccleston, Tennant and Smith episodes(thanks Netflix!). Think its a great show for the most part, only couldn't get into the latest season(7 i think?). But i did like the last two specials, especially the Day of the Doctor.
Excited to see Capaldi's Doctor.I wonder how he's gonna portray the Doctor.

Just curious: Why didn't you like season 7 and why did you like the Day of The Doctor? Just because I'm the exact opposite: I didn't like the Day of the Doctor at all (or the Christmas special) they both feel really gimmicky and a little bit too self aware of their status in popular culture. Speaking of pop culture: Has anyone else noticed a HUGE uprising of doctor who stuff in the last year and a half? At least in Ann Arbor I feel like I see every other person wearing a tardis beany or a "Wibbly wobbly timey wimey" shirt.
It's pretty obnoxious actually.

Well its not that i hate that season or something, its just that of all the seasons(or series)this is the one that was the least interesting to me. At the beginning of Smith's run i liked the Ponds but it quickly became all about them and less about the Doctor in my opinion which i didn't like, so i didn't really care for the episodes they were in that season. The Clara episodes i liked better cause it was sort of a fresh start but at the end were too complicated for me and i just didn't get it(maybe i didn't pay enough attention). Also didn't like the plot about the name of the Doctor, because every so often a character would say: Doctor? Doctor Who? which really bugged me.
The Day of the Doctor really suprised me because i didn't think it would be that good.I liked the three Doctors together and their interactions, especially the John Hurt Doctor and his story i found really interesting. And i liked the twist with Gallifrey at the end cause it gave the Doctor a new kind of goal i think.Plus it was great to see Tennant again.
Just my opinion.

I liked the War Doctor so much that I wouldn't mind a season/series following his adventures.

Started watching a couple years ago, I really enjoyed Eccleston as the Doctor and Tennant is probably my favorite. Not a huge Matt Smith fan though.

I liked the War Doctor so much that I wouldn't mind a season/series following his adventures. I agree. John Hurt is awesome. A lot of people brought up the fact that he was just too old for the role in that special. Some people said he looked "lost" and confused... I disagree though, he did an awesome job at being an old and worn out Doctor. I'm glad someone else agrees. I don't think Hurt could do a whole series though... It's a lot of work and he's really getting up there in age (he's 74). A mini series or a movie could be AWESOME.

I'm a classic Whovian but I do enjoy the current series. As a big Malcolm Turner fan I'm excited to see how Capaldi does as The Doctor so this upcoming series should be quite good. Now if anyone wanted to talk old school Who, I'm all for it

Now if anyone wanted to talk old school Who, I'm all for it I think the classic ones are better as well (mainly the 2nd, 3rd and 4th doctors) and you got more story
