After hearing all the negative notions to a show that has yet to debut... I don't think the show is going to get a fair shake due to racism. Much like the Ghostbusters didn't get a fair shot because of sexism.
This might be an unpopular thread. I don't want to offended anyone I'm just offering my opinion.

I suspect that the Netflix / Marvel momentum will be enough to pull this through yielding all the right viewing numbers. I think the negativity being raised is the usual internet based vocal section but the reality is (for me) that the numbers viewing these adaptations are more heavily biased towards people who have not read a comic in decades or at all.
I'm all for trying to find opportunities to add diversity whenever possible but as people have raised in the past - if it is a character you love & have followed for years if they make a major change in terms of origin / nationality / age it does leave a sour taste in the mouth. And as a very wise Bob once said on the cast "It might not be your favorite character but it doesn't mean it isn't someone else's".
I personally don't have that link to Iron Fist I haven't read much of him at all so I wait excitedly for the series still feeding off the high of Luke Cage.

Luke Cage was great. And l do hope Iron Fist has that Marvel magic that is making a killing on all fronts.
Bob's words are as normal very true.
It's funny, my husbands best friend who is Asian and a martial artist is so happy they didn't cast an Asian as Iron Fist because and l quote: "Ya that's just what we need... another Chinese guy who knows Karate on TV"

Nice to actually hear an opinion from someone of that race rather than every talking for them for a change, the man makes a great point.
