is there any sort of recourse for an incredibly late Kickstarter? This has really spurned me from the entire process. The previous ones I kickstarted came fairly promptly or only one or two months late. This one was supposed to have shipped in October and has yet to; meanwhile, the book is being sold in stores already!!!! wtf. He made the money from me, puts it out and then doesnt send me a copy. This seems messed up.

from the bit of info you posted it sounds like there was a mistake and your book didn't get sent out. I assume you contacted the kickstart-ee already? usually people/companies with kickstarters have some line of contact for their donors and reaching out to them about hte situation might help. good luck getting it resolved!

I received a response back from him a month later(two days ago) that said he was going to contact the shipping. I just don't believe it til I see it I guess.
That article is really disconcerting. So there is NO recourse unless the FTC somehow gets involved. I think I'm done with crowdfunding after this episode.

Yeah, I don't blame you. The one from the article seems to be more the exception than the rule from personal experience, but maybe I've just been lucky with the couple things I have invested in.
Good luck!
