In the Marvel Universe, there is a clearly defined scale accounting for the power level of the various superheroes, villains, robots, mutants and aliens that bum around, because of course there is. Here’s our list of insanely powerful mutants: www.topchart.io/lists/most-powerful-x-men-mutant

Isn't it Franklin Richards? I guess runners up sould be Nate Grey, David Haller, that kid from the new Uncanny X-Men arc.

maybe they were thinking of Vulcan? He was supposed to be an omega mutant, uber powerful, went batshit insane, married Deathbird and took over the Shi'ar... but his name was Gabriel, not Richard... Legion is a good call, especially once he got control of his abilities. He was so powerful he was able to erase himself from the entire Marvel continuity. Not sure anyone else was nearly as powerful as that.

Mike (am I remembering correctly?), You beat me to this one, but I think that you're right! Franklin was almost always described as possessing the most powerful mutant mind powers (a statement buttressed by the fact that he created an entire universe!), something later used by Jonathan Hickman in his run.

I guess you could also mention Apocalypse. as a sidebar bob; who wins in a fight Nate Grey or Legion? (hey this could make a good thread)

I've never seen anything that said what Nate Grey could do, except that one of his eyes glowed I'd have to go with Legion

Legion is a great character, it's a shame nobody has been able to write a better story with him (that I have read, I'm open to suggestions). Mr. Spurrier's most recent run on X-men Legacy started good, but ultimately let me down. If I'm being honest, I had no idea that Franklin was a mutant (I know, epic X-Fail). Before reading this thread I would have said Jean Grey, they made her too powerful to be a part of the Marvel U, hence, her repeated death. But since my recent education (this thread), I would have to agree Franklin is a bad@ss. Kid can create and manipulate universes, that makes him pretty much a God.

I promise I'm not just saying this because of the movie but it has to be Deadpool. I know he may or may not be a true mutant before the ops but he has definitely mutated after and he was in X-Man for a while. Just read Deadpool kills the Marvel universe and I'm pretty sure other people in books have said that if he was sane he would be the deciding factor in any fight. As he is now he is only good to you if you can convince him and keep him focused.
