Love love LOVE this plan and mission statement.
www.newsarama.com/24567-dc-launches-dc-you-ad-campaign-for-june-revamp.html
Everything about it is what comics should be. Can't wait for all these titles.
Not to skew negative, but the reactions are just proof that comic fans are impossible to please. Hopefully this brings in a whole lot of new readers and encourages those doubtful of big 2 titles or DC in general. DC cops a lot of crap from readers, but especially non readers because of exposure only really coming from online reactions and movies. So hopefully a change in attitude from the comics will result in a change in attitude from the people.

I think it's good that DC has started to realize that diversity isn't about inserting a token Gay, Colored, Tall, Fat, Disabled, Gender etc... character into their books. Its about diversity in storytelling in terms of the writers, artists, inkers, colorists and letterers [+ host of other supporting people involved in those books], determining characters and marrying them to the right creative team who can reflect the core attributes of the lead character should continue to be their pursuit.
The 'DC You' campaign is a step in the right direction by DC in so much as they aren't pretending it is anything other than a Ad campaign, just as Marvel Now really was this will be DC's way of hyping their range and hoping the Marvel reboot[launch] doesn't dent their core readership too much.
The tone of each of the books [overall] seems a good attempt at the marriage between the right kind of style creators with the correct DC properties. I'm sure they will be hopeful of getting some sleeper on-going hits but as DiDio has hinted it's not a problem to give a character their own title if the creative team and story is exciting it's something worth telling, then if it stops due to sales it then allows other characters and creators a chance to have a solo title.
It does look like a good time if you know your own personal tastes to jump onto some DC titles, I'm going to give Cyborg a chance as the creative team really excites me.

i love this!! i am a major DC fan, have been since time began.. well since the 80s anyway... the sneak previews have been a really helpful way of getting me interested or confirming by non interest. and the complainers can just keep complaining... cause that is their nature and who are we to deny their self serving nature..

Cheers to DC!!
I'm very much on board with this, and particularly the Amanda Conner/Jimmy Palmiotti Starfire, a character that has so much more to offer than has been portrayed of late.
In regards to the griping, there are those who don't yet grasp that the marketplace is beginning to shift back toward the more diverse readership that existed prior to this Modern Era, and those who feel left behind react in a defensive and often petulant way. As someone whose pull list dwindled during the "grim'n'gritty" Modern Age, I know that I gripe about things being "better in the Old Days", but hopefully with an eye towards reminding people that through into the Eighties, comics were for everyone--girls & boys, women & men, and kids, teens, and adults. There will still be plenty of darker DC books for those who require them, but this initiative could open up the DC Universe to scads of new and lapsed fans, perhaps even more-so than the New 52 re-launch, which excepting the Bat-books, mostly exchanged one group of readers for an only-slightly younger one, at least based on the raw sales figures.

I might try my 6yr old on Bat-Mite & Bizarro, so far he has resisted the comics bug other than Lego Ninjago and Chima comics but the other day he did say 'This is rubbish, there's no story in this magazine' from one of his Skylander things...I can feel him turning to the dark side!!!

This quote from Dan Didio is perfect - "ultimately, what you remember the past to be, is pure to yourself, but never captured purely when you go back there again. It's better to keep that memory clean, and really look ahead."
Glad this guy is still in charge.

I never expected to be buying a midnighter solo book, but im so happy it exists! Loved that one. Starfire was up there with harley quinn, i can see it becoming one of my favorites along with it. Red Hood and Arsenel is right up my alley. Those two work so well when they are off being idiots, its good stuff. Im all in for the new batman. Earth 2 society was super pleasing.. i have a few more to read too. But overall these DC you books have been scratching my comic book itch in the best way! I haven't enjoyed comics this much in a long time, im finally really happy with my books again. For a long time i felt like reading was a chore. Now im finding my self impatiently waiting!

i stuck with earth 2, worlds end and futures end all the way, and seeing it all pay off in earth 2 society is a great thing to me! And i like midnighter so much! I never knew i wanted this book, but im hooked! His whole philosophy is pretty refreshing. I felt it was a good balance of humor, violence and heart.... while different... there was still some.

Okay I figure there will be seperate threads for all of these books. But I am just beaming with excitement and happiness at being a DC fan at the moment. This past 3 weeks have literally been the greatest in my comic reading life. Every week there has been something I have loved so, so much. I have a very rock solid top 10 single issues of all time, and these past few weeks are seriously shaking that up. It started with the Wonder Woman Annual. Then Batman #41. Starfire #1. This week, Martian Manhunter, the new JLA, Wonder Woman #41. I found it so hard to choose which order to read these in when I sat down last night and every single one was as good and better and different than the last. And We Are Robin and Cyborg haven't even come out yet! More to come. This is ridiculous. My wallet can't handle it.
