Or is it Hit: 1957? Did anyone read this? I heard about it after I went to my LCS on Wed. and once I heard the premise seemed like it might be cool -4 part hard-boiled noir? Yes, please! I went back yesterday but any copies they might have had on the shelf were gone. Wondering if it is worth hunting down. May get it digital (probably in a couple of months when it will go from $3.99 to $1.99) or just wait for trade.
Curious to hear what people thought of it.

It is definitely worth tracking down. If anything, it was one of my most anticipated issues this week and did not disappoint at all.
If you haven't already read it (guessing you haven't from this post) this follows on directly from the 4-part Hit: 1955 (by the same creative team) which is both very well worth tracking down and available in collected form (very good value digitally, too). It is seriously good and was one of my favourite reads last year.

I would second that. If 1950's noir Los Angelos is your things the both Hit series grab ya hard.
Writing and art style mesh beautifully to give ya what you like.
Don't forget to check out the Hit: 1955 Pen and Ink.

Ah. Cool. Thanks. I completely missed Hit:1955. I'll have to get that as well as this new series. Cheers.

I read this and enjoyed it immensely. There is a first trade that will help figure out some of the jumpiness of the narrative, but the art was stellar. Colors are a tad too dark for me, though.
Definitely something for Brubaker/Phillips fans.
