I wanted to like the #1 so badly; unfortunately, it fell very flat, for me. The dudebro, impossibly-handsome, super-scientist protagonists failed to be compelling, and the dialogue was really, really stiff and unnatural, clunky and lackluster, not dissimilarly to how I felt about the dialogue in Jupiter's Legacy (before I dropped it). And it's a crying shame, 'cause Murphy continues to be a brilliant artist; one of the very best, and I would follow him just about anywhere. But with all the great time-travel series going on right now and really making it work (Black Science and Ei8ht jump to mind, but I know there are a half-dozen more on the edges of my periphery), this one fell quite short of the mark.

Tony, it's interesting what works for some people, and not for others. All of the things that didn't hit for you, did for me. I was in with the first page. I liked the dynamic between the main guys, and I laughed a few times as well which isn't easy to make me do. And that last page was crazy. For me this is right on the mark. I'm looking forward to the next issue. I'm tired of time travel. So to make me care about a time travel story is no short of a feat

I'm tired of time travel. So to make me care about a time travel story is no short of a feat I'm also tired of time travel stories, but I wasn't tomorrow and I probably won't be yesterday either. *It's just possible that I read too many Future Shocks in my formative years...
