I am kind of leaning towards the Watchmen movie being better than the book. Mostly because the Manhattan/Space Squid switch. Yea I agree, the end of the Watchmen completely falls apart with the weird space squid thing to me. I am glad they got rid of it. The DC Animated Under the Red Hood is another one that I think works better than the comic even though, interestingly, they were both written by Judd Winick. Getting rid of Superman/boy prime's role in bringing back Jason makes the story so much easier to digest and a hell of a lot less confusing. It's interesting that with all these better than the source material films Alan Moore has come up so often. I think especially ironic given how much the man hates everything about adaptations

Hollywood keeps making adaptations just to troll him! XD I haven't read any Spirit, but the movie was flat out terrible.

I like the Watchmen movie but it feels a little hollow compared to the book what with all the threads they had to pull out. The omission of the squid is a good move but I still think it works in the book. Otherwise the Comedian's confession to Moloch is a little underwhelming, when that is such a powerful part of the story.
I think casting Matthew Goode as Ozymandias was a terrible move too. The character is supposed to look like the peak of human physical fitness, but he looks like a member of the Mystery Men.
The movie looks great though.

Can't believe I forgot Dredd. Totally same thing here. Saw that movie and instantly bought the comics but just didn't get the same excitement. Closest was the Alex Garland/Jock comic script that was released which is just the movie anyway.
