Did anyone see this movie? I really loved it and would recommend people to go see it if you don't know what to go see in the theaters.
It's really deep and full of feels but Scarlett Johansson and Phoenix play incredible roles. It's a really cool commentary on the possibility of where technology could take us in the future. It could bring us less loneliness at the same time as causing loneliness.
So yeah, what did you guys think?

This is the #1 movie on my "want to see" list right now. I think it seems incredibly interesting and really want to see how engaging a character can be when its merely a voice in a computer. Plus the whole falling in love with a computer thing seems rather appropriate for our technology-driven society.

A friend told me about this and I honestly thought he was joking. Saw the trailer and I cannot wait to see it!

Yeah it's really good. I suggest you all see it ASAP. I originally thought it was going to be a movie about how negative the technological revolution is taking our mindsets, but it turns really positive very quickly.
Definitely an interesting perspective.

You can never go wrong when your AI is Scarlet Johansson.

You can never go wrong when your AI is Scarlet Johansson. I definitely wish I had my very own Robo-JoJo. Not gonna lie though, before the credits I thought it was Cameron Diaz rather than Johansson.

Ohhhh thankfully it's not, I am not a Cameron Diaz fan at allllll. I know she's a fellow Cuban but usually when I see she's in a film I give out a long sigh.

I enjoyed it quite a bit, although I admit there were multiple times in the film that Scarlett's breathy whispering was too low for me to hear what she was saying, and considering we were watching post baby bed time, we didn't have the luxury of repeatedly turning the volume up and down. But, Scarlett's breathy whispering made me feel tingly to hear, regardless of what she was saying. Yeah, great movie.

I got my screener for it a while back (being a former film critic has its benefits) and I really loved it. It wasn't my favorite movie of 2013 but it was a really charming, wonderful movie that reminded me why I enjoy Spike Jonze as much as I do.

That and the extremely excessive amount of close-ups were really my only qualms with the movie. Also the scene where they first have sex and the screen goes black in a theater FULL of people was incredibly awkward. Especially since I was sitting next to a couple who was clearly just starting out high school.

Saw this the other day and would rate it as my favourite film of 2013. Never watched a Joaquin Phoenix film and never really liked what I did see of him, but he was superb in Her. He WAS Teddy Twombly, I felt so much empathy for him. The thing I loved most was how accepting the society was of people with relationships with the OS's. I know sci-fi likes to take a negative view of humanity but it was refreshing to see a more realistic approach.
I'd definitely be happy to have even the old OS and earpiece though, how awesome would that be!
